HP ei tue linuksia koneellesi, mutta oletko yrittänyt saada apua HP:n keskustelufoorumilta? Sieltä voi löytyä joku joka on yrittänyt asentaa linuksin tälle koneelle.

No johan sattui! Me kun (siis firmasta) juuri tänään palautettiin yksi Suse Linux Enterprise Serverille sertifoitu HP kone, johon ei myöskään SLES:n 'lisäkilkkeet' (OES 2) ei asentunut millään ilveellä (raid ja EWMS), ym
HUOM! Siis se kone on HP:n sertifioima noille, mutta kun ei, niin ei. HP osti koneen takaisin.

Myös HP:n yks kannettava palautettiin muiden vikojen vuoksi puoli vuotta sitten.

On tainnu laatu tipahtaa siinä putikissa...

Damn, vieläkään ei ole auennut:/

Mutta kokeilin myös niin että latasin ajurit ja ajoin konsolissa tuonsax2 -r -m 0=nvidia. Se ajaa
koko homman ilman virheilmoituksia:O ja näytönohjain menee ilmeisesti päälle, ainakin yastin
mukaan 3d kiihdytys on päällä tuon jälkeen. Ongelma on se että kun koneen käynnistää uudelleen
niin ei mene X:ään vaan jotuu ottamaan tekstitilassa yastilla ajurit pois ja taas on lähtöruudussa.
Ongelma on siis yhä sama?
Suoritat siis ajotasolla 3 komennon sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia ja se toimii, tämän jälkeen myös X:n saa käynnistettyä mutta bootin jälkeen ei pelaa ellei vaihda takaisin nv-ajuriin?
Onko sax2 -komennon suorittamisen jälkeen tehdyn X:n käynnistyksen ja bootin jälkeisellä /var/log/Xorg.0.log tiedostolla eroa?
Ei pysty edes ilman buuttia X:ää käynnistämään. Eli rcxdm restart ei käynnistä X:ää. Mutta kun ajaa tuon sax komemennon niin tulee moni näyttö ja 3D nappulat näkyviin ja valittaviksi näyttövalikkoon (oletuksena 3D päällä). Eli joka tapauksessa pakko vaihtaa nv-ajuriin.

Tässä ennen sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia komennon ajamista (ajurit kuitenkin koneella, sillä turskin vaikutusta, koska eivät ole päällä):

Itsellä ei mitään hajua mistä tuolta eroa pitäisi löytyä. Toivottavasti löytyy jotain josta apua.

Mites tuo onnistuu. Ainakaan yastista en löytänyt keinoa päivittää tuota. Näyttää että 7.2:nen olisi uusin malli.

Huomiota kiinnitti että käytössä ei ole default vaan debug ydin. Voisiko se aiheuttaa ongelmaa?
No kokeillaans tuota eka. Eli käytössäni on englanninkielinen suse, varmaankin yastilla vaihdetaan. mikä on tuo "ydin" on engalnniksi?

kyllä se on noin helppoa :) Tietenki sinun pitää käynnistää kone uusiksi, jotta uusi kerneli otetaan käyttöön.
Jos ei toimi niin sitten asenna ne nvidian paketit vielä uudelleen.

Näyttäisi olevan kyseessä samat logit ja käytössä nv -ajuri, viimeiseen on vaan tulostunut lisää. Saisitko liitettyä sen sax komentoa seuraavan bootin jäleisen lokin jolloin kone kone käynnistyy tekstitilaan?
Huomiota kiinnitti että käytössä ei ole default vaan debug ydin. Voisiko se aiheuttaa ongelmaa?
Tälläisiä voisi myös koittaa:
- Vaihto default -ytimeen jos se on sopiva koneeseen ja uudelleen asentaa nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default ja x11-video-nvidiaG01 paketit.
- Toinen vaihtoehto voisi olla koittaa vaihtaa Nvidia -ajuriin muokkaamalla suoraan toimivaa xorg.conf tiedostoa ilman sax2 tai nvidia-xconfig komentoja (varmuuskopio ennen muokkausta).

- Asettaa framebuffer pois päältä käynnistämällä kone vga=0 valinnalla.
Ytimen vaihtaminen ei ratkaissut ongelmaa:/ Eli seuraavaksi sitten tuon xorgin muokkaaminen. Pitääkö muokkaaminen tehdä tekstitilassa, jos pitää niin miten se onnistuu? Olen muokannut tiedostoja pääasiassa Katen kautta, mutta en tekstitilassa.

Liittyikö tuo frambuffer vaihtoehto tuohon xorgin muokkaamiseen? vai onko se ihan erillinen vaihtoehto?

Ai niin ja miten saan sen lokin tekstitilasta näkymään ja talteen?

Valittelee siitä näytön määrityksestä.
Lopuksi voisi vielä yrittää tuota toimivan xorg.conf tiedoston muokkaamista jossa varmasti on näyttö määritetty oikein koska sillä toimii. Vaikka ei edellä lähettämilläsi, sax:in nvidia tai nv -ajuria varten tekemillä xorg.conf tiedostoilla ollut paljoa eroa.
- Kun kone on käynnistynyt onnistuneesti työpöydälle. Tee varmuuskopio toimivasta xorg.conf tiedostosta ja avaa tiedosto muokattavaksi vaikka käskyllä:
  kdesu kate /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- Kokeile vaikka ensiksi muuttaa vain kohta Driver "nv" muotoon Driver "nvidia".
- Tallenna tiedosto ja käynnistä X uudelleen (Cnrl+alt+backspace).
- Jos X ei käynnisty muokatulla xorg.conf tiedostolla palauta toimiva kopio tiedostosta cp käskyllä.
Ei onnistunut. Eli ei käynnistynyt X :(
