Hei,

asensin OpenSuSE version 11.1 HP ML115 (Opteron 1214 prossulla) palvelimeen ja kuormitus on melko korkea. Palvelimella pyörii Apache2, postfix, dovecot, mysql ja roundcube. Kone jää välillä jumiin ( vastaa pingiin, mutta hiiri ja näppis ei toimi ). Kopioin vanhasta mailipalvelimesta posteja Mozilla Thunderbirdin kautta tälle palvelimelle ja aina postin siirron aikana kone jäi jumiin. Mikähän tuon voisi aiheuttaa?

Ajoin muistitestin ja se meni läpi ilman ongelmia. Ohessa otteet /var/log/messages tiedostosta ja prosesseista (top).

Hei,

ajattelin vastata omaan viestiin näin kuukausien päästä.

Ongelman aiheutti OpenSuSE 11.1:n buginen kerneli. Kernelin päivitys auttoi ja Load average pysyy nyt lähellä nollaa. Törmäsin tähän ongelmaan toisessakin asennuksessa, jossa Samba-palvelin kyykkäsi hyvin pienelläkin kuormalla. Päivittäkää kerneli, niin levy I/O toimii paremmin.

Monet ongelmat joihin täällä törmää ratkeavat järjestelmän päivityksellä.
